About the Project

Where Every Garden Tells a Story

Go4ganics Green Club is launching an eco-friendly initiative to establish residue-free vegetable gardens in around 50 schools across Trivandrum city. Using sustainable grow bag methods, this project promotes healthy living, environmental awareness, and hands-on learning for students.

Project Scope

Where Every Garden Tells a Story

Grow bags will be used to cultivate vegetables suited to environment. Managed by Go4ganics, the garden will serve as both an educational tool and a resource for the schools.

Implementation Plan

Site Selection and Preparation

Identify sunny, accessible areas within schools for garden setup.

Supply of Materials

Eco-friendly grow bags, potting mix, seeds/seedlings, organic fertilizers, organic plant protectors, plant growth regulators and gardening tools including drain cells.

Garden Setup

Fill growbags with potting mix, plant seeds/seedlings and arrange for optimal sunlight exposure.

Student Training and Involvement

Workshops to train students in tasks like planting, watering, weeding, and monitoring growth.

Maintenance and Monitoring

Regular upkeep using residue free methods for pest and soil enrichment.

Harvesting and Usage

Incorporate produce into school meals or distribute it among students to promote healthy eating.

Evaluation and Feedback

Monitor progress and gather feedback to improve future activities.

Sustainability Plan

The project will be student-driven and self-sustaining, with ongoing support from the Green Club. Harvested produce may be utilized in the mid-day meal programme or sold, with the proceeds reinvested to continue this project.
